Against the Ice
Nel 1909, la spedizione danese in Alabama guidata dal capitano Ejnar Mikkelsen stava tentando di smentire la pretesa degli Stati Uniti sulla Groenlandia nord-orientale, un'affermazione che era radicata nell'idea che la Groenlandia fosse suddivisa in due diversi pezzi di terra. Lasciando il loro equipaggio indietro con la nave, Mikkelsen scivola sul ghiaccio con il suo membro dell'equipaggio inesperto, Iver Iversen. I due uomini riescono a trovare la prova che la Groenlandia è un'isola, ma tornare sulla nave richiede più tempo ed è molto più difficile del previsto. Combattendo la fame estrema, la fatica e un attacco di un orso polare, arrivano finalmente e trovano la loro nave schiacciata nel ghiaccio e il campo abbandonato.
